The Usual Suspects

The Usual Suspects is about five guys who are being questioned about being responible for a bomb that went off on a ship that was suspected of having drugs on it. There is a main guy that you don't see face during the whole movie and he's a very powerful and many many people are very scared of him. His name is Kaijsa Sojia or whatever. In the end of the movie they ends up being the only one of the five guys to survive and he was the really quite guy so I wasn't expecting it at all. This movie is also very confusing at times, and you need to really pay attention. The one problem i had was that there were alot of characters so it was hard to follow. I woudn't say that this movie is a must see but it is pretty good if anyone gets the chance they should sit down and watch. But keep in mind that you have to pay close attention because it's very easy to get confused!

Memento

Memento is a very confusing but good movie. It is the kind of movie you almost have to watch twice to get it. It is about a man whoose wife was raped and murdered and he was hit in the head during the struggle and he get short term memory loss. Therefore he write everything he does down and sometimes even tattoos it on his body. He is looking for the guys that killed his wife threw the whole movie and he is relying on his notes and the people he meets to help. He ends up getting screwed over by a couple people he met, they use him because he can't remember anything. In the end he finds the guy and kills him. The whole movie plays backwards so it can get really hard to follow but it's still very interesting. The ending of the movie was terrible though, i was very disappointed about it, but overall it was very good and i would watch it again.

I'm Outraged - teaching girls to be Promiscous

I cannot even believe this website - teaching young children to dress up trashy looking dolls in bar clothes and clothes that just barely cover their bodies. Little girls are getting the message that it is cool and looks good when you dress like that, and that is definitly not the message we want to be sending to young girls. When i have a daughter, she's definitly not aloud to be on these kinds of websites because i don't want her dressing like a tramp. This issue make me very verklempt about the what the media is teaching our next generation!

Canada's Next Top Model is Wrong

Last night I watched the show "Canada's Next Top Model" and I was not impressed with the way they treated the contestants. Also, it is sending a bad message to young impressionable girls who are watching at home. It is giving girls the impression that they should be totally focused on their looks and be obsessed with being thin and sexual. All of the girls on the show are naturally beautiful and just hearing the jugdes put them down all the time make them think that they are ugly or not good enough to be the next top model when they really are. I don't think it's right for these girls to take it, we get enough of it just going to school or work everyday, why should they go on a show to hear it non-stop, makes no sence to me once so ever!

Life and Death is not ENTERTAINMENT

I am outraged. I just finished reading about a new reality tv show about people competing for a dying woman's kidney. I think this is so disgusting and very rude. Not only is the woman's illness being shown across the world, but people can really care less that she is going to die, they just want her kidney. People really need to rethink their ideas for T.v. shows, this is not entertaining once so ever to me,and I can't tell you enough how disgusted i am. People really will do anything to get on T.v. these days and it's pretty sad. This is definitly a show i will NOT be watching!

American History X

American History X is a very intense movie that has to do with alot of racial issues. It is about a guy named Derek is a very very anit-semitic and his bad behaviour starts to rub off on his little brother Danny. After Derek kills 2 black guys after they try to break into his car he gets sent to jail for 3 years. While he's in jail, Danny starts to follow in his shoes by going to meetings and parties with Dereks old friends and other anti-semitic people. When Derek gets out he has a chamge of heart and no longer is the way he used to be. He trys to get Danny away from it all and his family too. Sadly in the end, Danny ends up getting shot at school by a black kid that he eariler on in movie stood up too. This movie was one of those that it is so hard to watch but again hard not to once you start. Overall this movie was good when it comes to showing how rascism and anti-semitism can get very out of head.

BIAS!!

" A bias is a prejudice in a general or specific sense, usually in the sense for having a preference to one particular point of view or ideological perspective. " An example of being bias is like when you are talking or writing about something and you have a strong opinion about the subject then you will talk about it in your point of view and stick strongly to it. For example when i talk about facebook to people, i do not like it at all and nothing anyone can say will change my mind. That's my definition and opinion about what bias is!

A Million Little Pieces !!!

The book "A million little pieces" by James Frey is a amazing book. It is soo intence the whole time you are reading it. It's a true story about a guy (James Frey) who was a drug addict and alcoholic and he is put into rehab and it tells all his ups and downs. It is very graphic like it tells about him like throwing up all the time and he swears everyother word. I found out about this book on Oprah. She had him on the show and was talking to him about it, i was interested so i bought it. There has been some gossip in the media saying that he lied about everything, Oprah had him back on the show and he admitted to lying about some things like peoples names and some little things that he just added to make it more interesting but the overall book is true. This is definitly the kind of book that you can't put down once you start and i completely recommend it to anyone.

Guitar Hero!!! : )

So.. I'm pretty much obsessed with this game, i play it whenever i get the chance and i finally got it for myself at easter. This is a game on playstation or Xbox and instead of a controler you use a guitar. You can eventually make a band and buy things such as new guitars and outfits for your band members. You can start playing the songs on Easy and you can go to Medium then to Hard, and then Expert. I'm finally able to play them on Medium and a couple on Hard. There are songs from Kiss, Guns and Roses, Rage Against the Machine, Black Sabbeth, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and many other popular rock bands. Pretty much everytime i get together with my 2 friend Lindsay and Becky, that's all we do it play haha, Yeah we're cool!. In conclusion, Guitar Hero is Amazing and I'm in love : )

Virginia Tech.

I couldn't even imagine being at Virginia Tech the day of the shooting, that is one of the most scariest things in the world to me. I don't even know what think about what was going on in Cho's head, He must of had everything bottled up inside for so long. What i don't understand is if there was a shooting at the residence and the cops were there, then why didn't they stop the shooting in the classroom? .. it boggles my mind!! .. And to think about that the families of the victims are going threw, Omg it must be so hard!! When the 'e-mail' thing happened last year, i was so terrified and amazed that it could happened to us. Like you watch on t.v. and read about it happening in other places, But when i found about it here, i got that really yucky 'sick to my stomach' feeling and i hate that. It also makes me feel really bad that kids from our school felt this way and were treated like crap. In conclusion i'm really sorry to all the families that are greeving and i wish them all the best !

Who Cares!!!!

I recently came across a column in a magazine (Not sure what the name of the magazine was), But the column was called "Oops". In the column all the media does is point out little things that celebrities might be doing out of the ordinary or if they don't look 'perfect' as usual. In the column i was reading it was showing a celebrity on the beach with her kid, and it had a circle around a little little spot of cellulite, it was so ridiculous!!! First of all she has a kid, so it's probably from when she was pregnant with the baby. Second she wasn't even close to being fat, she was very tiny and i would not of noticed it if they didn't point it out. Everyone in the media needs to get a life seriously, this bothers me so much. The media will do anything they possibly can to show us that celebrities are not perfect, and in my opinion it's nice to see celebrities once in a while when they aren't at their best !!!

When i was younger, i was all about the disney princesses. I've dressed up like all of them for halloween and my room was done in Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. I still have a few things in my room that has to do with the princesses haha. I think that the princesses effects every little girl's life at some point. Could you seriously say that when you were little you didn't want to be a princess, i highly doubt it! The fact that they have been around for so long is great because you can talk about how much you liked them when you talk to younger girls now. I think that Disney Princesses are so great to have in a young girl's life !!

Rosa Parks *

Rosa Parks is famous for triggering the Montgomery Bus Boycott which became one of the biggest movements against racial segregation in history. She started this all on December 1 1955 by sitting at the front of a bus instead of the back where all the black people were usually forced to sit. The front of the bus was for the 'white people'. The bus driver was telling her to get to the back but she disobeyed his orders. By her doing this, is also launched Martin Luther King Jr. to forefront the civil rights movement. She ended up getting arrested for this. She later wrote book called "My Story", and in it she said "People always say that I didn't give up my seat because I was tired, but that isn't true. I was not tired physically, or no more tired than I usually was at the end of a working day. I was not old, although some people have an image of me as being old then. I was forty-two. No, the only tired I was, was tired of giving in." I think she is a very strong woman for doing what she did.

Who killed the electric car!?

We watched a movie called 'Who killed the electric car?' in media class when we had a supply teacher. I personally found this movie sooo boring, and i truly didn't pay very much attention. Yes the world would be a much better place if we all had them but it's obvisously not going to happen anytime soon, and i know so many people that think the car is very ugly, I'm one of them. They are not very convenient from big families, and they can only hold a certain amount of weight. Other then them making a difference in the world, they are pretty pointless!!

The Number 23

A couple weeks ago i went to the movies with a friend because we were soo bored, i don't like the movies, so i never go. We went not knowing what was playing and just going to pick a movie when we got there. We ended up going to see "The Number 23" with Jim Carrey. It was amazing, i absolutly loved it and so did my friend. It keeps you interested the whole time. It definitly makes you think, and i was counting and adding up things in my head while i watched. It's about a guy (Jim Carrey) that reads a book called " the number 23" and it's about this guy that realizes everything in his life equals up to the number 23. His name, his address, his phone number, even the colour of paint on the walls which was pink equals 23 because there is so much red and so much white, somehow it works out, you name it and it equaled 23. As Jim reads on, he starts seeing that everything in his life equals 23 aswell and the book ends up being about him. This is for sure one of my favorite movies and i recommend going to see it, it's worth it!!
